I know what you mean, kids beat out to-do lists all of the time! Enjoy the rest of your summer, and good luck on your new endeavor!

I'm jealous of your cooler temperatures!!! I'm from Northern Michigan and just got back from visiting there. Now that I'm back in humid NC I agree that Sept. and Oct. would make a better summer vacation because you can actually be OUTSIDE! :) Also, if I read right, you went from K-8th grade?? I'm going from elementary to 6th grade this year, too!

OMG! You start in September!? That's much later than us for sure. We'd already be in a month of school. What is AIS? Congratulations on your new position! Sounds like a lot of teachers are changing grades & positions :)

Thanks for stopping by my blog! I'll definitely follow you now :)

AIS is academic intervention services. In NY there is an initiative called RtI (response to intervention) where students are placed in different tiers of support (which determine how often and how long they need to be serviced) based on various data points. AIS teachers provide remedial services based on the students' tier and skill deficits. I will be an AIS reading teacher, so I will be remediating decoding, phonics, phonemic awareness, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension skills in grade K-4 and 8.
