Leprechaun Tricks & Treats

I...and the kids...had so much fun on Monday. When the kids arrived, they found yellow and green streamers hanging from our doorway, a mixed-up schedule, mixed-up supply bins, green footprints, green leprechaun dust, green toilet water, some smarties in their traps, and a note from our leprechaun on the smart board!

It seems before he could check out our traps, he jumped into our classroom through the window to use the bathroom!

Later on in the day, Seamus popped in again to leave some gold-wrapped snickers & milky ways in our traps and another note...this time with clues on how to find his pot of goodies!

After completing our hunt around the school (freebie from A Turn to Learn!), this is what we found! Gold coins, green beaded necklaces, rubber Irish pride bracelets, and St. Patty's Day pins.

Leprechaun Traps

Check out the super cute traps my kiddos and their families came up with... I love them! The leprechaun will be visiting our classroom on Monday :o)

St. Patty's Writing

Here's a quick writing activity that produces sweet and sometimes hilarious results. Enjoy! :o)
I forgot to take pics of my kiddos' work today, but they write 4 things they are lucky to have on the lines then do small illustrations to go with their writing on each little leaf of the shamrock.

Last Little Bit of Seuss

Here are the last few photos of our fun week!

Thing 1 & 2 counting by 10s activity (from Classroom Freebies)
While explaining what we were going to do, I told the kids they'd have to cover the Things "naked heads" and they all LOST IT. And, yes, the principal was doing a walk-through at the time :o) They turned around and told her, "Mrs. Cooper said naked!" Ah, the life of a kindergarten teacher!

Horton Hatches the Egg predictions (Horton template from: Erica Bohrer ...I can't find the actual link to the post or unit on TpT, I think because of how everyone had to remove/reword things recently that said Seuss, etc.)

More Seuss Fun

Here are a few more photos from the week...
One Fish Two Fish addition problems (we also did a sort & graph), and which-what-whos to go along with I Wish that I had Duck Feet.
I wish that I had...cheetah feet because I can run fast.

I wish that I had...a skunk tail because I could spray people.

I wish that I had...elephant ears because I could hear good.

I still need to get some photos of our Horton Hatches the Egg activity--my favorite!
