Election Day (a day late...)

A day late but posted nonetheless! Here are some photos of our presidential mini-unit. The kids were so excited to vote and watch the news in the morning to see if their prediction was correct. They came in telling me they were right this morning with huge smiles on their faces. Some of them were even lucky enough to go vote with their parents yesterday (possibly because I encouraged them to nag...I mean ask...their parents if they could tag along). :o)

We read Madam President by Lane Smith and My Teacher for President by Kay Winters, we visited the Scholastic sites for each candidate, and we read our Election Day Scholastic News and watched the mini video that accompanied it. We also made some pretty cute "I Voted!" headbands/hats, but I forgot to snap some photos of that. I just love what some of them would do if they were the president...too cute!
