Fire Prevention Week

Even though it's a super short week for us (3 days with kids), we've been busy learning about fire safety. The kids are loving stop, drop, and roll, the various songs about fire safety, and learning how to dial 911. Here is a cute fire dog craft we did this afternoon. They all turned out different and oh so adorable!

You can also see the Christopher Columbus craft we did earlier this week (thanks to my teaching buddy for sharing!) after learning about the explorer using a bookflix lesson and our rainbow writing of our first names.

We've also been practicing pointing to words as we read and reading from left to right. We use monster pointers to help us, and sometimes we even practice reading using our monster voices after we've echo read, choral read, whisper read, and buddy read our predecodable books. Kindergartners sure do love monsters!

I found the monster pointers at Target last year in the party favor section.
